Beefing up the Diet: Benefits of Omega-3 and CLA for Human Health

The Omega-3 fatty acid ALA has been identified as an essential nutrient, meaning it is necessary to sustain human health; however, it can only be obtained through the diet. Currently, human consumption of ALA and total Omega-3 fatty acids is believed to be lacking, and may be responsible for increased incidence of certain diseases and cancers.
